QuickBooks 2011:
Monday, October 18, 2010 at 6:10PM Intuit has just released the 2011 editions of their QuickBooks software. While there aren't any revolutionary changes this year there are a couple of interesting new features that might entice existing users to upgrade to the latest edition. Some of the new features for QB pro, Premier and Enterprise Solutions are as follows:
QuickBooks Pro & Premier
- Customer Snapshots: This feature gives you a consolidated view so that you can see you customer’s history at a glance. You can see your customer’s purchase and payment history, outstanding balance, enabling you to make a quick decision on customer requests. You can also easily identify your top customers by revenue and payment history so that you can prioritize appropriately.
- Quickbooks Search: Allows you to locate any account, report, or invoice with just a keyword.
- Transaction History: This shows you important details such as customer’s payment history, or past orders with a vendor right on the same screen as your transaction so that you can complete the transaction without having to switch back and forth between screens.
- Collections Center: You can stay on top of your customers by quickly identifying overdue and almost overdue invoices. You can email collection notices directly from your Outlook, Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail account.
- Batch Invoicing: You now can create a template once and invoice many customers as a batch. This will automatically create a full set of invoices for you. This is extremely useful for businesses that send the same invoice to multiple customers, or the same invoice every month for the same customers.
- Balance Sheet by Class Reports (only in Premier edition)
QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 11.0
New features in Enterprise Solutions 11.0 include all of the above plus:
- Multi-Instance: If you work with multiple companies in QBES, you can have two open at the same time. This will save time by eliminating the need to completely close down one company before opening another.
- Multi-location Inventory: Allows you to track the quantity and value of inventory by location within QBES. You can also transfer inventory from one location to another. This will eliminate the need for additional tracking outside of QBES.
- Create custom reports with ODBC-compliant applications using a new direct connection to the QuickBooks database.
